"Q": Can triggered events/quests in Morrowind be missed?
i.e.: Im starting my first day, meet up w/Hisskar in the Traders Inn upstairs. He offers to share some gold w/me if I am willing to locate the source of Fargoths' stash. He suggests I wait till dark, go to top of light house & watch for Fargoth, retrace Fargoths steps to gold stash & then report back to Hrisskar.
Ive done all this, making sure Fargoth does not detect my presence. The problem I'm having is that Fargoth doesnt come into view while Im atop the lighthouse. Ive reloaded twice prior to meeting w/Hrisskar & still Fargoth doesnt show up. I wait for what seems to be forever [3 minutes], & still no Fargoth. Out of curiosity, I stealthfully meander map to find Fargoth outside his house on the other side of bridge. Was there an event I didnt trigger or is it a timing/path following I screwed up on? More importantly to me, are most quests/side quests in Morrowind straight forward to follow or can they have a complicated turn of events to succeed at?
[BTW, I think Morrowind needs to have Nav Beacons, I have lost 10 virtual lbs walking around Seyda Neen my first day!] |

I'd imagine the script is triggered as soon as you're at the top of the light house, and only then. It ends when you report back to Hisskar (or grab the stash- which ever comes first). |

Make sure you're right at the top of the lighthouse and looking the right way (down into Seyda Neen). Get up there with time to spare before nightfall. IIRC, you usually spot Fargoth at dusk. You should see him creeping towards the... Ah, but that'd be giving it away. |

Also when talking about moving about the world use the mages guild travelers to move you about for gold. Between them, silt striders, boats, your mark and recall spells or scrolls you will soon not have to walk everywhere. But at first it is fun to see the sites and learn the land. |
